​Instructions: 
  1. Select 'Elgin Park Secondary' from the list of schools.
  2. Next, select 'Catalogue' from the left menu.
  3. Then select 'Resource Lists' to see the Famous Poets resource list. 

Useful Databases 

If you are accessing the SD36 online databases from home, see your teacher or teacher-librarian for the password.  The following databases are recommended for this topic and can be accessed here: 
World Book Kids: ​An online encyclopedia that has text to speech software.  The articles also have a tab for additional resources (including pictures and videos).
Explorica Primary Schools: A database with access to encyclopedia entries, magazines, and articles on many different topics.
​Poetry & Short Story Reference Centre: Contains current and classic poetry as well as author biographies

Poets (Biography.com):  This web page contains detailed information about different poets.  Biography.com is a reputable website with high factual reporting. 

Poets (Poets.org) :  This website contains biographies of over 3,000 poets.   It is sponsored Academic of American Poets, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting poets and an appreciation for poetry.
