LIBRARY SCIENCE
Elgin Park's Library Science Program is a wonderful opportunity to make friends, learn skills, and meet the best librarian in the lower mainland! (Mrs. Bonn did not write this, it was written by a library scientist)
What Library Science is all About: Library Science 10, 11, and 12 are courses you can take with Mrs. Bonn in the library learning commons. You will learn how a library works, how to process books, how to access information, use the learning commons website, read books to Bases students - and help run the library learning commons. Most of your mark will be based on your daily work helping run the library learning commons but you will also be given monthly genre assignments, and other assignments designed to help you learn more about learning commons and help you learn research and presentation skills.
How to Become a Library Scientist: Visit your alpha counselor, fill out a Library Science application form (you will get it from your counselor), and have a brief interview with Mrs. Bonn. If you are an independent, socially responsible, conscientious worker who attends classes regularly, most likely you will be accepted.
*If you have any questions, don't hesitate to come up and talk to any of the library scientists and/or Mrs. Bonn
