Science in Context: Has a focus on contemporary issues and integrates different types of materials (including journal articles, videos, encyclopedia and newspaper articles.

Discovery Education Canada: ​Access to instructional videos, multimedia activities, and articles.

Learn 360:  A streaming video multimedia resource.  It provides access to thousands of video and audio clips as well as full-length videos. 

Useful Websites 

British Columbia Geological Survey: This survey has been conduced by the BC government since 1895 and is used by government, industries and other organizations for information.   See 'BC Mineral Inventory' for geological, economic, and location information for thousands of mineral resources.  

Mindat.org:   This website claims to be the world's largest database of minerals, rocks and meteorites.  The advanced search option allows for the input of very specific information, and the website also contains lots of images of different mineral resources. It is by the Hudson Institute of Mineralogy, which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the awareness, study, and preservation of mineral resources.    

Natural Resources Canada:  This website is funded by the Government of Canada.   See top drop-down menu for information and resources on minerals and metals.   

U.S. Geological Survey:  This website is funded by the U.S. government.  Scroll towards the bottom and click on 'Data and Tools' and then click on 'Data and Tools Topics' to access information on mineral production, consumption, and environmental effects.
